CONCEPT/INSPIRATION: Ardith Ibañez Nishii
Created by African slaves 400 years ago in Brazil, capoeira is an art form that combines dance, martial arts, music, acrobatics, and self-defense. Some say breakdancing finds its roots in capoeira moves... Ardith modeled the Omulu Capoeira NYC logo after her instructor, Nadine Mundo (aka Instructor Cotonete).
